Processed locally in your browser — your file is not uploaded.Processing happens in this browser tab, so files are not uploaded to Metyris for processing. Reloading or closing the page clears working data, though your browser may retain temporary files or downloads. Very large files can exceed available browser memory.
The tool reports the actual result and whether it is strictly below 100 × 1,024 bytes. Resize the image or raise the target if quality adjustment alone is insufficient.
No sign-up is required. The calculation or transformation happens in this browser tab and the result is available immediately.
A 100 KB upload limit is strict enough that image dimensions often matter more than a small quality adjustment. This tool measures the generated file against 100 × 1,024 bytes.
Metyris searches for the highest practical JPG or WebP quality below the target while keeping the current dimensions. If even the lowest tested quality is too large, the result is labelled as over target.
PNG is lossless and does not respond to a photographic quality slider in the same way. WebP or JPG is usually a better choice for a small photographic upload.
Check small text, signatures, document edges and fine lines at normal viewing size. If they become soft, return to the original, resize only as much as necessary, and try again.
The input limit is 30 MB and 40 megapixels. Browser memory can become the practical limit on older phones even below those caps.
The browser creates a new image. Camera metadata, location fields and embedded color-profile information are not preserved. Transparent pixels become white when the output is JPEG.

Canvas processing removes metadata and animated inputs become a still frame.
